Developing, evaluating and implementing complex interventions into healthcare settings: The contribution of health psychology
Many health psychology interventions are delivered face-to-face, and therefore struggle to reach large numbers of people. By contrast, I will present research on interventions that are designed to reach entire populations through the National Health Service (NHS) in England.
The research will include the evaluation and refinement of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, and a series of linked studies to establish the feasibility of implementation of risk-stratified screening in the NHS Breast Screening Programme. This research will aim to show how health psychology contributes to these national programmes, as part of multidisciplinary teams.
